My Inevitable Dream

"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable."Christopher Reeve

I think most of us even when we were still kids have imagined what our dream house is.  Our dream house might have changed while growing up or because of the situation that we are into, we might have forced ourselves to forget the dream house we used to look forward to that someday will be ours.

When I was in High School, I saw this place Citta Italia in Cavite and I told myself, that I will buy my first house there. My life was not really such a success. I worked as a call center agent and moved from one call center to another trying to find the right company and right account to handle. I tend to easily get bored with a a routinary job so I keep on changing work. And the salary is not that big enough for me to save for the house I wanted to aim for in Citta Italia.

Fortunately, since my parents were in London at that time, though I was denied for my first visa application to go there, I passed the second application. I was able to bring my husband and my son as well so it wasn't really such a painful sacrifice of leaving the Philippines at that time.

I told myself at that time, I will make use of my time working in London to save up for my dream house at Citta Italia within 5 years only. I didn't really intend to stay for long working and living in a different country as I really don't feel comfortable with the idea.

But God was really good that He blessed us with work that enabled us to save up for the house and finally we have come home to our house here in Citta Italia. And we have been living here for the past 2 years since we went back home here in the Philippines.

But as I have said, change is the only permanent thing in this world. While we are happy living in my dream house, it does not stop there. I ought to have the right to dream more especially for our kids as our family is growing.

I saw this video and I literally went to check the house how it looks like for real and how it feels like to go around the house. I knew that feeling, like how I felt when I said to myself firmly that I wil own a house in Citta Italia. I know right at this moment that whatever it takes, I will own this house in 2014 and I will celebrate my 32nd birthday in that house.

I know some of you might be raising their eyebrows while reading this, some might be inspired to have such strong conviction of one's self to declare something like this. But I can't be bothered really. I know I will do whatever it will take for me to get this house for real!

Like most of you, there is no charge to dream and make it come true. Just go for it!

There Is No Such Thing As No Chance

Winners know that it is never too late in life and that there is always a chance if they are willing to change. If at any time in the future you find yourself not having a wonderful time and not enjoying a fabulous life, there’s one sure fire way to turn things around – and turn them around very quickly.

You can turn the table and turn your life around by making some life changing "changes" right here and right now. Regardless of your background or present situation, you can reassert control over your life when (not "if") you are willing to take a chance on yourself. Each new dawning day offers you a fresh start.

In spite of the thousands upon thousands of mistakes you have made in the past, you can still grab the best life has to offer. Yes, you can!

Life offers you a second chance, a third chance, a hundredth chance; in fact it offers up as many chances as you need to do your best and be your best. It’s time to throw your entire heart and soul into making your life the super adventure it should be. A lifetime of unfettered freedom to realize your every dream is out there just waiting for you to discover it.

You need to get out there and grab it and live it with all the fervor and passion you can muster. Take a chance on yourself and watch your life take off in the process. And always remember to carry this one truth with you forever. There is no such thing as no chance as long as you’re willing to give yourself another chance.

The chance of a lifetime – a lifetime of unbridled fulfillment and achievement – is ready when you are.

Tony Robbins: Small Changes Create Different Results

Do you feel sometimes that things are not changing for the better even though you are putting all the hard work and best efforts you've got? I do and it makes me so frustrated that it seems that whatever I do to achieve what I want, it's just not happening.

But after watching this video from Tony Robbins which has been my daily breakfast before I start my work, I make it as a habit to listen to one of his videos and it gives me new insights on how to change my life in a different direction. It made me realize how small little changes in what I am doing can create different results.

So I want to share this video with you in case you might be experiencing what I am experiencing at the moment. Small changes can create different results from what we are looking for.

Don't give up. You never know, that one small thing that you must do will make you achieve what you want in your life. Just Like what the picture says.

TIME TO RISE AND SHINE“

Begin today! No matter how feeble the light let it shine as best it may. The world may need just that quality of light which you have.”
Henry C. Blinn

How do you approach each new day? Do you excitedly jump out of bed, full of electrically charged energy and ready to rock and roll; eagerly anticipating all the boundless opportunity this new day is about to offer up? Or do you instead just lie there, wishing you didn’t have to face the day? The manner in which you tackle each morning goes a long way in determining the type of you you'll get to enjoy or endure.

If you bound out of bed, embracing the dawning day with all of the fire and fervor you can muster, chances are great that today is going to be a day to remember. If, on the other hand, you can barely get your rear in gear, odds are pretty good that today may well be a day that you would like to forget. So what kind of day do you plan to have today — a forgettable or unforgettable day?

“People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in; their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
Elizabeth Kubler Ross

OK, I will grant you that it is a difficult challenge to be raring to go each and every day of your life. Like it or not, we’re all due an off day every once in a while. But when the off days start outnumbering your good days; could this perhaps be a real clear indication that you are moving down the wrong tracks and need to change your life’s direction immediately? You can bet your booty it is.

If you’re not out there fervently chasing your dreams, painting a portrait of excellence in everything you say, think and do daily; can you ever really be happy? Really, really, really happy? The answer is no. Come on, I’m not talking about occasionally being happy, but being consistently happy with your life and where you’re headed day in and day out. I’m talking about living life to the max, squeezing all the good times, great adventures and fabulous relationships you can from each day.

Hey, if you’re presently not loving the life you live and living the life that you love, when do you plan to do so? When you keep going from one hum-drum day to another, how in the world can you ever experience the kind of happiness that you desire and deserve? You can't and you won't. And that’s not the deal you want out of life, is it? No way! But hold on, don’t despair; the kind of happiness you’ve dreamed about is well within your reach. As a matter of fact, it’s right where it has always been — right there inside of you.

“There is some place where your specialties can shine. Somewhere that difference can be expressed. It's up to you to find it, and you can.”
David Viscott

Inside each of us there shines a light; a radiant ray of hope, a beaming beacon of promise that can make our lives the rich and rewarding adventures we long to live. But whether we choose to allow this light to get to the outside and shine or merely flicker within is our choice alone.

Your capacity to channel your energy into making this day the best day ever has a great deal to do with what you do — and don’t do — on a daily basis. If you find yourself dreading the upcoming day, the warning bells are sounding loud and clear that you desperately need to make some radical changes

 and make them right now.

Instead of trudging through life, doing what you have to do to just barely scrape by, why not turn the tables and start setting the world ablaze by doing those things you love to do? Rather than allowing even one more day to slip away forever, plodding along on a dead end street to nowhere, why not make the most of the moment by making the most of your God given gifts and abilities?

“We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining — they just shine.”
Dwight L. Moody

To be the best you were put on earth to be, you must fearlessly shine your own light and boldly follow your own path, never worrying about where that path may lead. You need to confidently stride into the unknown and forge the life that you’ve always imagined. And never, for even one minute, concern yourself about the surrounding darkness, because that is precisely where your light will shine its brightest.

John Wesley once said, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” When you start doing everything you can to make your life everything you want it to be, you will discover that your life can become everything you have imagined it could be and more.

There's no doubt about it, today is your day in the sun. That’s right, today is your time to rise and to shine as never before. Instead of lying around and doing nothing, it is time to get up and get with it, allowing that light from within to show you the way. All you'll ever need is ready when you are. Just follow your heart and you’ll find the way. And may God bless you each step of the way.

May the sun always shine on your window pane,

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you,
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
~ An Irish Blessing ~

The Bottom Line: When you rise and let your light shine brightly, each day will be even better than the day before.

Take a Licking But Keep on Ticking

Determination that just won't quit — that's what it takes.”
A. J. Foyt

Back in the 1950’s and 1960’s, a number of entertaining advertisements and commercials touted the durability of an amazing new watch — the Timex. In each of the commercials, these resilient watches were put through some of the most rigorous torture tests imaginable.

Regardless of whether the watches were taped to the propeller of an outboard motor, frozen in an ice cube tray or submerged deep under water, these tough Timex watches always came through. Their famous slogan, "it takes a licking and keeps on ticking®," said it all. No matter what they did to the watch, it just kept on doing what it was designed to do — it kept on ticking.

“The most essential factor is persistence — the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.”
James Whitcomb Riley

When you think about it, our lives are somewhat akin to the watch commercials. After all, we often take quite a licking as we weave our way through life. Yet our God given capacity to weather even the roughest of storms can allow us to take a licking and keep on ticking as well.

Like it or not, we’re going to take our lumps on occasion. And while we would all prefer that not to be the case, we’re going to get whacked aroundmore than a few times. Our ability to overcome life’s trials and tribulations can allow us to keep going
 and to keep on ticking.

“Determination gives you the resolve to keep going in spite of the roadblocks that lay before you.”
Denis Waitley

Whenever life deals you a hard-hitting blow, you need to pick yourself up and get back in the game. Dogged determination, when coupled with a refuse to lose attitude, can pave the way through even the biggest of roadblocks and obstacles you will ever encounter.

Helen Keller said, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.” And overcome it you must if you truly want to enjoy the life you’ve always dreamed of living.

“If you set goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.”
Les Brown

When you develop a take a licking and keep on ticking mindset, temporary setbacks will never keep you down for very long. As long time baseball manager Tommy Lasorda once said, “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination.”

Why not set big goals, exciting goals, goals that make you come alive with super charged energy and excitement? Only these types of super sized goals can get you going and then keep you going. The moment you decide that these goals will be yours and then commit everything you’ve got to making them happen, you will soon be living them rather than just dreaming them.

You need to go for these goals with every ounce of determination and commitment you can generate — holding absolutely nothing back or in reserve. After all, there is absolutely no limit on how far you can go when you go for it with everything you’ve got.

The Bottom Line: Whenever you take a licking, just remember to keep on ticking.

Tony Robbins on How to Focus

Can you clearly see the word Focus? If yes, good. If no, well you might need a little help on how to stay focussed to see clearly what is on your path and where you are going.

I like listening to Tony Robbins everyday before I start work. I watch different videos of him teaching different ways on how to create lasting change and success.

This time, I want to share with you his video teaching on how to create focus in your life.

So remember the three pillars you need so you can focus:

1. Focus. Get clear and compelling vision on what you want.
2. Get the best tools.
3. Resolve your inner conflicts.

It's less than a 7 minute video but if you put the 3 pillars into action in your life if you really want to learn on how to focus in whatever you decide to get yourself committed to, then it will be a great help to guide you.

"When you focus on problems, you will have more problems and when you focus on possibilities, you will have more opportunities."

Motivational Story Today: 02-15-2013

I would like to share this story that I have read which inspired me so much. It's a real life story of someone who went through so many difficulties in life but he decided to make a way to overcome every trial in his life.

If you are experiencing hardship and difficulties in life, read this story and it will surely give you a boost to fight  every trial you are dealing with right now.

How I Rose From Abject Poverty
By: Aaron Robinson

As I sit back in my office chair, gazing at the computer monitor that has a graphical layout of Consciousness Magazine, I begin to reminisce about some of the obstacles and challenges I went through. At a younger age, these challenges molded my life long passion for creativity that has motivated me up to this point. Going through these stages were long lasting, inspiring, artistic, and unpredictable. In most scenarios, these unpredictable events would seem to have had a negative impact on my life, but instead, led me down a righteous path that has always had a happy ending. If it weren't for these challenges I may have never developed my skills in fine arts and recording rap and hip-hop vocals. I say this because trials and tribulations, life long pain, and believing in a higher power has motivated me to become passionately aware of the gifts I was blessed with. When these talents were combined with my social, interpersonal, disciplined, and leadership skills, the innovative "Consciousness Magazine" was born.

Consciousness Magazine wasn't an overnight realization; it took nearly a year of strategic business planning after graduating from Columbia College in Chicago and living the life as a starving hip-hop recording artist and professional graphic designer. I can remember when the manifestation of this project was only a thought. About three years ago, at a grocery store on the West side of Chicago, I saw a vision that I was changing people's lives by inspiring them. I came to a halt and began reflecting on the environment I was living in at the present time. At this given moment, my spirit was uneasy, due to the fact that I was upset with the ignorance of people in general. I told my business partner Lahad about the vision, and that a pamphlet is needed to provide people with inspiring information that they may not be conscious of. He said, "That's a great idea!".

I felt as if this could be the catalyst to address people's problems and complaints. It was our calling to help "make a difference!" I felt as if I needed to take action and do something about this perpetual epidemic of ignorance that is causing people to destroy themselves and others. A couple of years later I drew out the conceptual layout of the pamphlet. I never anticipated developing a magazine so early at the beginning of my career. While pursuing and working diligently on many projects in my life, I can say that Consciousness Magazine has been the most challenging, especially pulling together a group of people for a staff that have full time jobs, families, or are college students. My staff started off with about 10 people. At the completion of this issue only four of those original members were still around.
Nevertheless, God blessed me with about 30 or more people who played an important role in putting together this publication. While continuing to reminisce on life over the past several years, I believe that my childhood drove me to start my own business, Atron Productions, Incorporated. I always knew that I would someday be an entrepreneur. I consider myself to have noble intentions. I want people to know that there is hope out here. For the longest time I was struggling and I was determined to be a voice for people letting them know that they can overcome all obstacles that may be set in front of them. With this in mind, I pulled together my staff and contributors to put together a magazine that has these qualities.

These days' people need inspiration, a need I feel that they don't get satisfied from contemporary media outlets. This belief was shaped by my youth and life experiences. I was born on the Westside of Chicago. When I was a few years old, my parents moved my siblings, mentally ill uncle, and I to Hopkins Park, Illinois, a poverty stricken rural area. My father being a shade tree carpenter and my mother a house-wife; it was hard for my siblings and I to get some of the things we needed for school and as children. I can recall only having two pair of pants when I was in the fifth grade. Students showed no empathy when they saw me wear clothes back-to-back along with the holes that were noticeable in my shoes. It didn't bother me.

I always knew that I would one day grow into a man and be able to get everything I ever desired. Being blessed with the talents to be a fine artist, I knew that there would be a possible way out of poverty. This belief along with people constantly telling me, at a young age, how important an education is are the key reasons as to why I always wanted to help people change their lives so that they would not have to go through the embarrassment and shame I've been through. I didn't know how I was going to pursue this at such a young age. I always had a strong family. Like most families, we had our problems. I honor my mother who has "Southern hospitality." She instilled in her children the importance of values and family at a young age. My siblings and I are all close. We all went to college except my oldest sister who became mentally ill at a young age.

The family encountered a lot of tough times. I lost count of all the times that I can recall our electric being shut off, and going without a house phone for months due to lack of finances to pay the bills. During these conditions it was sometimes difficult for us to meet some of our everyday needs such as eating the necessary foods for a complete diet. The winters were worse but we strived every year to make life better. I can recall us having a wood heater. We would block off the rooms and all of us would sleep in the kitchen or living room bundled up to keep warm. Some nights before school, we washed our clothes with our hands. We would hang them up over a fan to dry. On warm days we would leave them to dry on an outdoor clothing line or fence. Also, when the electric was cut off we pumped water from an outside well to supply us with water. We protected and concealed our foods in metal or plastic containers to protect it from the rats and roaches that contributed to the extra holes in the walls and floors of a once condemned home that was progressively renovated by my father.

Since then, a new home has been built due to the fact that our house was burnt to the ground several years ago because of a furnace problem. I can recall there was nearly two feet of snow on the ground during the time of the burning. It was a blessing that everyone made it out safely. This was a difficult time of our life, especially when we had no home insurance. Could you imagine the only thing you owned were the clothes you stood shivering in on a freezing winter day? By the time the fire department arrived to our property, there was only one wall standing.

Since then, I learned to not take anything for granted, appreciating life and valuing people to the fullest. During the time of the fire, I was a student at Kankakee Community College. My grades began to drop. I dropped one class. I felt deprived, feeling as if I had nothing to live for. I basically gave up all hope and faith. I was enrolled in two art classes and also gave up on those. Prior to the burning, I could recall on a daily basis waking up around 3 in the morning to work on art pieces. Sad to say, that drive was no longer there. I now found myself with nothing to do. While our family was partially living with my Aunt Olivia, I had to plan days ahead to figure out how I was going to commute from Hopkins Park to school four times a week. It became very difficult because I did not have reliable transportation at the time and didn't know where my next meal or money was going to come from. My parents needed to spend more time running around trying to get life back in order after the fire and the car wasn't always available to me.

Sometimes I packed extra clothes in my book bag and lived out of it occasionally. Since the college was 20-30 minutes away from Hopkins Park I sometimes stayed with a friend or my sister who lived in Kankakee. Having no place to stay and bouncing from house to house was very detrimental. Nevertheless, I never made any excuses not to go to class. I knew that I had to be in class even if I was discouraged and didn't do the homework for the next day. Stepping foot in the school always gave me a sense that I was still doing something with my life.. I just loved being in a productive atmosphere. Deep down inside I was angry at the world, wanting a normal life. I would always question myself: "Why am I going through so much hardship?" The influential people in my life such as family, friends, strangers, and my former art instructors helped me to change my negative attitude, and thinking pattern on how I felt about life at the time. This is one of the reasons I hope to give out scholarships, so that I can give someone the opportunity they think they may not have.

As time progressed, God was looking over me as I cried out for help and wanting change. Within music, rather mine or others, I gradually found therapy, spirituality, and a source of healing power. I repetitively played the song "God's Grace" by the inspirational group Trinity 5:7. An insertion of the lyrics in the song reads: "No weapon formed against thee shall prosper." I strongly believe in this quote, which is a partial verse from Isaiah 54:55. Some people may assume I am religious but I'm a spiritual and humble individual. I don't think that categories and titles make up a persons character; it's all about what's in his or her heart. If it wasn't for my passion for the arts, I may have fallen victim to the influence of taking more to the street life or maybe ended up as another statistical black male in the court system by making uneducated and unwise decisions. Believe me, nothing came easy.

If you have a gift you must continue to perfect it. That makes it more rewarding. It kept me out of trouble. As, far as I can remember, I continued to draw, paint, write, record, and take up hobbies, such as collecting sports trading cards to escape my reality. I didn't know that it was going to have so much of an impact upon my future and the lives of others. I can recall drawing graphical images at a younger age. During that time, I didn't know that I was in preparation to earn a B.F.A. in Graphic Design or working on a magazine publication. When I was recording music with a small radio and speaking into a broken microphone, I didn't know that I was going to meet and perform with a professional music artist, or get interviewed for radio stations. Sometimes my life reminds me of the Richard Wright biography "Black Boy." While Reading this book many years ago I can relate to some of the trials and tribulations he overcame, such as leaving the South and moving to Chicago for a better opportunity to become a successful writer. Along the same lines, I once moved to Chicago to finish college to become a successful artist. Also, when Wright was younger, his house burned down.

As I went back and read the book for the second time, I became mesmerized, drawn into the story of his life thinking, does Richard Wright live in me? He may not but he really motivated me to express myself by writing, whether it was lyrics for music or dialog for a movie script. I like to write in my spare time. Creative writing relieves my stress. For the most part, it positions me in my own world. I can say that I've truly been blessed. Sometimes you may feel that it's the end of the world as you cope with certain problems or situations. All along, it is happening for a reason. At the same time, we must acknowledge the small details in our life that cause us to have problems. Sometimes we consciously or unconsciously make incorrect decisions, which lead to pain and suffering. In most cases, situations are unpredictable. Work them out, move on, and try to make some sense out of the situation if you can. Don't dwell on the problem if it can't be fixed at the moment. Let time take its course. Then go to your favorite relaxation spot like I go to my office. Sit back, reminisce, meditate and appreciate the present moment.

Your Motivation For Today: 02-13-2013

GET POWERIZED!

"It is better to err on the side of daring than the side of caution." Alvin Toffler

In a world overflowing with endless chances to make your move and make your mark, why are you missing so many chances? Why are you blowing so many opportunities? Why are you getting so little done?

Maybe you have convinced yourself that your 'opportunity of a lifetime' has come and gone. Perhaps you have conned yourself into believing that good fortune is just not in the cards. So you break out the crying towel. You deal yourself a pity card - along with a ton of excuses.
Instead of doing, you stay put.
You stand pat.
You cower in the corner.
And get nothing done.

Come on man, you need to get a grip. And get in the game.

"Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity; Whenever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable. They go together." Earl Nightingale

Life is full of opportunities. There are tons of chances available, gazillions of openings all over the place. More than you can handle. More than you ever dreamed possible. But you don't see them. You don't seize them. Because right here, right now, you are scared.

Scared of losing.
Scared of falling down.
Scared of embarrassing yourself.
Scared to half to death.

You are too stinking scared to get out there and take a risk. To take a chance. To throw caution to the wind. And it shows.

Good grief; kindergarten kids have more backbone than that.

"I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."Nelson Mandela
Does the danger of failure scare you? If so, you are in good company. Everyone FEELS fear. Everyone FEELS afraid. Everyone FEELS scared from time to time. But these are just feelings. Feelings you can overcome. Feelings you can conquer. Feelings that can be replaced with action. Face facts, playing scared is no way to live. Playing scared is no way to win. Playing scared is a dead end street. And playing scared will choke out every dream you have... if you give it a chance.

Don't.

Seizing opportunity can never be accomplished by sitting safely on the sidelines, hoping something good will fall in your lap. You have to take risks. You have to let go. You have to toss your feelings aside and turn it loose.

You have to reach out and grab glory.

"Courage is being scared to death - but saddling up anyway." John Wayne

Boldly reaching out and giving life a real go can be risky. It can be dangerous. And it can be uncertain and unpredictable at times. But would you prefer to stay put and do nothing? Accomplish nothing? And go nowhere worth going? I didn't think so.

Starting today, you are going to stop playing scared.
Stop playing it safe.
Stop leaving your best on the table.
Stop allowing fear to have the final say.

And start living life with passion and purpose.

You are going to take some chances - and keep taking them. Even when you are losing. When you are failing. When you are falling short. And while you will take some lumps along the way, you will get better. You will get stronger. You will overcome life's obstacles - and achieve your dreams.

It's time to saddle up and punch fear in the mouth. Kick it in the rear. Run it out of town - and out of your life.

Take charge. Take control. Take the dare. Show some flair. And make today a great day, an incredible day; a day you will cherish forever.

Power Punch: Fight fear with fire.
