Bo Sanchez: Powerhouse Interview By Mel Tiangco

I have always read his books way back when I was in College as I have mentioned with my previous blogs and I find his teachings about God being relevant to everyday life. I guess that's how I became his fan and most of the time, I find time to read his blogs, watch his videos and listen to his audios that help me develop my spiritual growth, self development and even with my financial understanding.

Now I just want to share with you this video to get to know more about Brother Bo Sanchez. When I heard of his story, I was really shocked and I kept on thinking, did I read it right or did I understand what I just read? Is it really what it is? Did it really happen to him? And then you will soon realize the question, how did he overcome it and even became a success in inspiring other people who are also struggling in life?

If you want to know all the answers to these questions, theres is only one way to find out. Watch the video and you'll soon find out.

Appreciate Your Life

I woke up today at 12am, yes 12 midinight. I felt like I was sleeping while awake beset with so many thoughts, worries which might have been stressing me out that I just had to wake up from being awake while I thought I was sleeping.

So what did I do after waking up? The usual, went to my office and opened my Facebook account. Then I saw these posts that did not really help at all. I saw a video post of a road accident with an old man who was crying for help and has blood all over and his legs were misplaced and there was also a woman lying lifeless. Then I saw a post of someone who's brother was shot in the head five times and they still don't know who did it. And then another post about an OFW who died in  Saudi Arabia who was not given any help by OWWA and DFA when so many misfortunes has happened while the man was still abroad. I won't go into so much details anymore.

My point for writing this right now is that there are so many situations that we could be into like the posts that I have seen on facebook today. Situations that we don't really want to happen to us such as an accident or our loved ones being shot dead by someone or be an OFW who is far away from his family and there's no one you can run to for help in case you need one.

I would not want to be in those situations but things happen for a reason. We may not know God's reason for such frightful situations happening to us but we must at all times, learn to trust that God has a reason for letting it to happen.

It is also a realization for me that whatever problems or worries I might be facing right now, might be incomparable to the pain and sufferings that other people are going through right now. Seeing those posts made me realize that my problems and my worries are not as bad as their situation. Sometimes we think too much of the problems that we have and we tend to forget to thank God for protecting us from any harm and danger, for keeping us safe and for keeping us alive so that we can overcome the obstacles in life that He's giving us. It's a matter of learning to appreciate what you have and what you don't have and just be thankful for every single day that God gives you.

Patience Is A Virtue

One of our plans once we go back to in the Philippines was to put up a Thai Restaurant in partnership with Uncle Tum. I would say he's the best Thai chef for me, I loved every dish he cooked for us while we were in the UK.

Well, our plan has taken a backseat for now but we are just preparing for it. We will still pursue and push thru with our plans once we are financially stable from our multiple streams of income. For now, we will just have to wait for God's plans.

"Don’t get impatient when things aren’t going your way. Sometimes a delay is just what you need to get the results you desire."

The two guys discussing about our future business perhaps?

My Husband drinking beer while Uncle Tum is cooking

Doing what he does best, cooking!

Food Tasting? They probably need my advise!

Can you guess what dish is this? Its the famous Pad Thai, Uncle Tum's Version. ( so good and authentic!)

Our Sukiyaki Version

One of the best memories I have staying in my Aunt's house in Leeds, United Kingdon was feasting on food. His ex-husband is Thai and a chef so we really get to enjoy good thai food and even chinese food.

We love doing our version of Sukiyaki. Oh, I just can;t get enough of it every time we do this in their house. It's really fun eating like Japanese people and mixing all the seafoods, noodles and soup while grilling all sorts of meat.

Anyway, I think the pictures can show it more than my words in describing how we enjoy our Sukiyaki.

Just look at that, the chili sauce, noodles, meats, shrimps make me drool right now.

Nice shot of the whole group feasting on our Sukiyaki version

How To Know If Your Dreams are God's Dreams By Bo Sanchez

I just finished reading Bo Sanchez' book " How to Know if your Dreams are God's Dreams" and I could relate well with how the book has explained in knowing what God's dream is.

I have dreams that I have been able to achieve, one of which is being able to buy a house and saving up for a business when we got home here in the Philippines. But I also have dreams that are yet to be achieved. I haven't given up on achieving those dreams but there are moments that I feel like I don't really know if I can still achieve my dreams. You get into that feeling of loosing hope because you just keep on failing with everything that you do in order for you to achieve your dreams.

When we decided to leave London and go back here in the Philippines, I was so excited and I could see myself becoming a successful entrepreneur. But it did not happen. My husband and I wanted to put up a restaurant but I knew then that we did not have the enough capital yet so I opted to go for a franchise opportunity which is a food cart business. But after a few months of struggling to keep up with the business, I just had to accept that I've lost 500,000 pesos from our business. It was so hard to get over it but being the achiever and the dreamer that I was, I looked for another business opportunity that will help me recover from that financial loss from our previous business. That's how I got into MLM or network marketing. I was so decided at that time that it was the fastest way that I can get back what I have lost financially. I have been using the products anyway so I might as well learn how to do the business. But I failed again. What can I do? It was my first attempt in learning the MLM business and I was so naive with all the things that is happening in the MLM industry. As a newbie, you are told to follow your Upline because they already know what they are doing and that's what we did, only to find out that we are being used by our Upline for his own personal gains.

But you know what, it did not stop me from jumping to another MLM business opportunity. Though feeling devastated at that time, after loosing more than 300,000 pesos from the previous MLM company, I did not want to give up. I wanted to prove myself in this field. I wanted so hard to be one of the MLM top earners and be known. I wanted to be popular and see myself being praised by newbies in the MLM for earning millions and having tons of followers.

I didn't realize at that time though if it was what I really wanted. I mean, I want to earn millions but not just to be popular but because I want to secure the future of my family especially for my children. I wanted to be in that position where I could be a leader because I want to help other people succeed as well.

Reading Bo Sanchez book has made me realize all of this. According to his book, here are the three most
important things you need to become a great success in life: Desire, Belief, and Action.

Desire
You need to want your dream from the depths of your
soul. How intensely do you desire your dream? How
deeply do you want it to happen? Many people don’t
achieve their dreams because they don’t want it bad enough.

Belief
Belief is nothing else but a feeling of certainty. The more
certain you feel that you can accomplish your dream, the
faster you can make them a reality. Many people don’t
achieve their dreams because in their heart of hearts, they
doubt they can really do it.

Action
Albert Einstein said, “Nothing happens unless something
moves.” Successful people aren’t the most knowledgeable
people on earth. But you can be totally sure that all of
them have a bias for action. Many people don’t achieve
their dreams because they know but they don’t act.

It made me realize that I was able to achieve my dream of buying our house because I wanted my kids to have a home. And I never stopped until I was able to achieve it because badly wanted it for my family. And my family is the most important thing in this world. I don't know where I would be right now if I don't have them. You know what, while writing this, I have tears flowing down my eyes because there are so many things I have been realizing and they are coming into my thoughts which makes my heart cry.

With so many things that I have learned with all my business ventures and loosing huge amounts of money that could total to more than 1 Million pesos, I have certainly found what I want to do and how to do it so I can achieve my dreams for me and my family and be able to help other people as well. I love reading, writing and talking so I am using this gifts from God in achieving my dreams. I am still into MLM businesses and I have learned to venture into other types of business that allows me to have multiple sources of income.

For a time, I have lost myself and I really don't know what I want in life. I felt so confused because I am so afraid to fail again and again. But God is really good, He never failed me, He always made me feel that He's just beside me. And I think that is one of the most important lesson that this book has taught me, that my dreams should have a deeper reason why I want to achieve it and that it should be connected to my life's purpose of being able to help other people and not just myself.

If You Believe It, You Will Achieve It

When you dream and you visualize it and you never stop thinking about it, you are able to get it. And I can attest to it.

Way back in High School, after seeing Citta Italia from afar, I said to myself, I will definitely buy a house here. I was so determined to fulfill that dream that even after graduating from High School and College, I never forgot about it.

But I knew it would take me long enough to fulfill my dreams of being able to buy the house just by working here in the Philippines. I was working as a call center agent jumping from one call center to another trying to land on a bigger salary offer. So when the opportunity came for me to be able to go to London, even if I knew that I would be leaving my husband and my son for a few months before I am able to bring them to London also, I took the the chance because I knew that it was the decision that I have to make to change our lives the fastest way that I can. It must have been a hard and painful decision since my son was just turning 2 years old at that time but I had to take the courage of thinking for a better future ahead of us. All I know is that I was going to give myself just 5 years maximum of working abroad and in such time, I should be able to buy my dream house at Citta Italia and save up for a business when we go back home in the Philippines.

I kept thinking about this everyday. I would always be on the internet looking for different house models of Citta Italia making myself feel that I am on my way choosing the right house model for my dream house. Until one day, I knew that from the salary that I was earning, I could finally start buying my dream house in Citta Italia.

Here are some of the pictures that was sent to me while we were still in London after our house was built.

Seeing this pictures really made me feel so proud that I was able to make one of my dreams come true. If you really want something in life, you just have to go after it. Take all the necessary steps that you have to do to make your dreams come true.

This house was built from hard work and from the dream of being able to live inside Citta Italia. I never let go of that dream even if it took a while and I had to make a hard decision, that hardest decision that I ever had to make really paid off.

I feel so proud with this achievement. It is really true that "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve". So for those who are reading this, and have lost hope with their dreams, you still have a chance to make that decision to go after your dreams. Keep dreaming but also keep on making actions that will make you realize your dreams.

My Inevitable Dream

"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable."Christopher Reeve

I think most of us even when we were still kids have imagined what our dream house is.  Our dream house might have changed while growing up or because of the situation that we are into, we might have forced ourselves to forget the dream house we used to look forward to that someday will be ours.

When I was in High School, I saw this place Citta Italia in Cavite and I told myself, that I will buy my first house there. My life was not really such a success. I worked as a call center agent and moved from one call center to another trying to find the right company and right account to handle. I tend to easily get bored with a a routinary job so I keep on changing work. And the salary is not that big enough for me to save for the house I wanted to aim for in Citta Italia.

Fortunately, since my parents were in London at that time, though I was denied for my first visa application to go there, I passed the second application. I was able to bring my husband and my son as well so it wasn't really such a painful sacrifice of leaving the Philippines at that time.

I told myself at that time, I will make use of my time working in London to save up for my dream house at Citta Italia within 5 years only. I didn't really intend to stay for long working and living in a different country as I really don't feel comfortable with the idea.

But God was really good that He blessed us with work that enabled us to save up for the house and finally we have come home to our house here in Citta Italia. And we have been living here for the past 2 years since we went back home here in the Philippines.

But as I have said, change is the only permanent thing in this world. While we are happy living in my dream house, it does not stop there. I ought to have the right to dream more especially for our kids as our family is growing.

I saw this video and I literally went to check the house how it looks like for real and how it feels like to go around the house. I knew that feeling, like how I felt when I said to myself firmly that I wil own a house in Citta Italia. I know right at this moment that whatever it takes, I will own this house in 2014 and I will celebrate my 32nd birthday in that house.

I know some of you might be raising their eyebrows while reading this, some might be inspired to have such strong conviction of one's self to declare something like this. But I can't be bothered really. I know I will do whatever it will take for me to get this house for real!

Like most of you, there is no charge to dream and make it come true. Just go for it!

Oh Internet Connection, Why So Slow?

I totally hate slow internet connection! It's quite frustrating when you are working into something and you want to really finish it fast but the internet connection is just too slow, thus, it slows your work and productivity as well.

I'm not too sure if that situation is only here in the Philippines coz I swear, when we were in London, the internet connection was really fast or maybe because we were so near to the link exchange box  that might have affected the speed of internet connection. But even so, I know a lot can relate to what I'm saying here. Seriously, the technology here in the Philippines, is quite slow.

Other countries have been enjoying FREE WIFI to almost every places like hotels, restaurants, public places like years ago and it's like here in our country, it's only now that we are enjoying some of it coz literally not every place is WIFI ready or if it is, haha....you have to pay for it.

And one more thing, I could say that the mobile contracts or postpaid plans from the three networks here really sucks big time. The plan itself and the mobile phones available, well what can I say? Having worked at Carphonewarehouse while I was in London as one of the Sales Consultants selling mobile phone contracts and broadband plans, I cannot even begin to compare.

We sell mobile phone contracts with free phones which are really damn good and top of the lines with call and text messages that comes free within the plan. Anyway you can visit their site and see what I'm talking about but you might get confused how their plans work if you want to compare it with the plans being offered by Smart, Globe and Sun. You can drop a comment or email me at iamapriltherese@gmail.com if you want to know more about it.

Well, my rant has simply gone a long way...hahaha. All I wanted to say is that our internet connection really sucks and it's really really frustrating if it can't keep up with the speed of my mind when its working, ahaha!

How I got addicted to Instagram

I love reading articles, news, gossip or call it whatever you like but it's like an addiction for me to know the latest scoop in town.

I could spend like the whole day just reading news and articles especially about local celebrities here in the Philippines. It's quite funny though that I got interested opening an Instagram account because I keep on seeing celebrities posting pictures on Instagram and I wanted to know more or maybe see more of their photos.

You know you get that feeling that you get involve with their lives by knowing more of what they are doing, wearing, what's happening to them plus you get the latest buzz or controversy just by lurking on twitter and instagram. I mean most controversies or news now comes from social networking sites such as facebook, twitter and instagram.

But what's really good about following them on these social networking sites is that you are able to interact with them because you can start a conversation with them directly through twitter and instagram and if they are kind enough, they do answer questions coming from their fans.

I'm sure fans feel rewarded once they are mentioned by the local celebrities they idolize even just on a comment or a retweet. It makes a feel recognized. I also love that idea.

How social networking has revolutionized everything. Now every fan or avid follower has a chance to get to know more of the celebrity they adore.

In return, celebrities also has to be careful dealing with their fans on social networking sites, fans have such a great impact, they can either make you or break you.

Motivational Story Today: 02-15-2013

I would like to share this story that I have read which inspired me so much. It's a real life story of someone who went through so many difficulties in life but he decided to make a way to overcome every trial in his life.

If you are experiencing hardship and difficulties in life, read this story and it will surely give you a boost to fight  every trial you are dealing with right now.

How I Rose From Abject Poverty
By: Aaron Robinson

As I sit back in my office chair, gazing at the computer monitor that has a graphical layout of Consciousness Magazine, I begin to reminisce about some of the obstacles and challenges I went through. At a younger age, these challenges molded my life long passion for creativity that has motivated me up to this point. Going through these stages were long lasting, inspiring, artistic, and unpredictable. In most scenarios, these unpredictable events would seem to have had a negative impact on my life, but instead, led me down a righteous path that has always had a happy ending. If it weren't for these challenges I may have never developed my skills in fine arts and recording rap and hip-hop vocals. I say this because trials and tribulations, life long pain, and believing in a higher power has motivated me to become passionately aware of the gifts I was blessed with. When these talents were combined with my social, interpersonal, disciplined, and leadership skills, the innovative "Consciousness Magazine" was born.

Consciousness Magazine wasn't an overnight realization; it took nearly a year of strategic business planning after graduating from Columbia College in Chicago and living the life as a starving hip-hop recording artist and professional graphic designer. I can remember when the manifestation of this project was only a thought. About three years ago, at a grocery store on the West side of Chicago, I saw a vision that I was changing people's lives by inspiring them. I came to a halt and began reflecting on the environment I was living in at the present time. At this given moment, my spirit was uneasy, due to the fact that I was upset with the ignorance of people in general. I told my business partner Lahad about the vision, and that a pamphlet is needed to provide people with inspiring information that they may not be conscious of. He said, "That's a great idea!".

I felt as if this could be the catalyst to address people's problems and complaints. It was our calling to help "make a difference!" I felt as if I needed to take action and do something about this perpetual epidemic of ignorance that is causing people to destroy themselves and others. A couple of years later I drew out the conceptual layout of the pamphlet. I never anticipated developing a magazine so early at the beginning of my career. While pursuing and working diligently on many projects in my life, I can say that Consciousness Magazine has been the most challenging, especially pulling together a group of people for a staff that have full time jobs, families, or are college students. My staff started off with about 10 people. At the completion of this issue only four of those original members were still around.
Nevertheless, God blessed me with about 30 or more people who played an important role in putting together this publication. While continuing to reminisce on life over the past several years, I believe that my childhood drove me to start my own business, Atron Productions, Incorporated. I always knew that I would someday be an entrepreneur. I consider myself to have noble intentions. I want people to know that there is hope out here. For the longest time I was struggling and I was determined to be a voice for people letting them know that they can overcome all obstacles that may be set in front of them. With this in mind, I pulled together my staff and contributors to put together a magazine that has these qualities.

These days' people need inspiration, a need I feel that they don't get satisfied from contemporary media outlets. This belief was shaped by my youth and life experiences. I was born on the Westside of Chicago. When I was a few years old, my parents moved my siblings, mentally ill uncle, and I to Hopkins Park, Illinois, a poverty stricken rural area. My father being a shade tree carpenter and my mother a house-wife; it was hard for my siblings and I to get some of the things we needed for school and as children. I can recall only having two pair of pants when I was in the fifth grade. Students showed no empathy when they saw me wear clothes back-to-back along with the holes that were noticeable in my shoes. It didn't bother me.

I always knew that I would one day grow into a man and be able to get everything I ever desired. Being blessed with the talents to be a fine artist, I knew that there would be a possible way out of poverty. This belief along with people constantly telling me, at a young age, how important an education is are the key reasons as to why I always wanted to help people change their lives so that they would not have to go through the embarrassment and shame I've been through. I didn't know how I was going to pursue this at such a young age. I always had a strong family. Like most families, we had our problems. I honor my mother who has "Southern hospitality." She instilled in her children the importance of values and family at a young age. My siblings and I are all close. We all went to college except my oldest sister who became mentally ill at a young age.

The family encountered a lot of tough times. I lost count of all the times that I can recall our electric being shut off, and going without a house phone for months due to lack of finances to pay the bills. During these conditions it was sometimes difficult for us to meet some of our everyday needs such as eating the necessary foods for a complete diet. The winters were worse but we strived every year to make life better. I can recall us having a wood heater. We would block off the rooms and all of us would sleep in the kitchen or living room bundled up to keep warm. Some nights before school, we washed our clothes with our hands. We would hang them up over a fan to dry. On warm days we would leave them to dry on an outdoor clothing line or fence. Also, when the electric was cut off we pumped water from an outside well to supply us with water. We protected and concealed our foods in metal or plastic containers to protect it from the rats and roaches that contributed to the extra holes in the walls and floors of a once condemned home that was progressively renovated by my father.

Since then, a new home has been built due to the fact that our house was burnt to the ground several years ago because of a furnace problem. I can recall there was nearly two feet of snow on the ground during the time of the burning. It was a blessing that everyone made it out safely. This was a difficult time of our life, especially when we had no home insurance. Could you imagine the only thing you owned were the clothes you stood shivering in on a freezing winter day? By the time the fire department arrived to our property, there was only one wall standing.

Since then, I learned to not take anything for granted, appreciating life and valuing people to the fullest. During the time of the fire, I was a student at Kankakee Community College. My grades began to drop. I dropped one class. I felt deprived, feeling as if I had nothing to live for. I basically gave up all hope and faith. I was enrolled in two art classes and also gave up on those. Prior to the burning, I could recall on a daily basis waking up around 3 in the morning to work on art pieces. Sad to say, that drive was no longer there. I now found myself with nothing to do. While our family was partially living with my Aunt Olivia, I had to plan days ahead to figure out how I was going to commute from Hopkins Park to school four times a week. It became very difficult because I did not have reliable transportation at the time and didn't know where my next meal or money was going to come from. My parents needed to spend more time running around trying to get life back in order after the fire and the car wasn't always available to me.

Sometimes I packed extra clothes in my book bag and lived out of it occasionally. Since the college was 20-30 minutes away from Hopkins Park I sometimes stayed with a friend or my sister who lived in Kankakee. Having no place to stay and bouncing from house to house was very detrimental. Nevertheless, I never made any excuses not to go to class. I knew that I had to be in class even if I was discouraged and didn't do the homework for the next day. Stepping foot in the school always gave me a sense that I was still doing something with my life.. I just loved being in a productive atmosphere. Deep down inside I was angry at the world, wanting a normal life. I would always question myself: "Why am I going through so much hardship?" The influential people in my life such as family, friends, strangers, and my former art instructors helped me to change my negative attitude, and thinking pattern on how I felt about life at the time. This is one of the reasons I hope to give out scholarships, so that I can give someone the opportunity they think they may not have.

As time progressed, God was looking over me as I cried out for help and wanting change. Within music, rather mine or others, I gradually found therapy, spirituality, and a source of healing power. I repetitively played the song "God's Grace" by the inspirational group Trinity 5:7. An insertion of the lyrics in the song reads: "No weapon formed against thee shall prosper." I strongly believe in this quote, which is a partial verse from Isaiah 54:55. Some people may assume I am religious but I'm a spiritual and humble individual. I don't think that categories and titles make up a persons character; it's all about what's in his or her heart. If it wasn't for my passion for the arts, I may have fallen victim to the influence of taking more to the street life or maybe ended up as another statistical black male in the court system by making uneducated and unwise decisions. Believe me, nothing came easy.

If you have a gift you must continue to perfect it. That makes it more rewarding. It kept me out of trouble. As, far as I can remember, I continued to draw, paint, write, record, and take up hobbies, such as collecting sports trading cards to escape my reality. I didn't know that it was going to have so much of an impact upon my future and the lives of others. I can recall drawing graphical images at a younger age. During that time, I didn't know that I was in preparation to earn a B.F.A. in Graphic Design or working on a magazine publication. When I was recording music with a small radio and speaking into a broken microphone, I didn't know that I was going to meet and perform with a professional music artist, or get interviewed for radio stations. Sometimes my life reminds me of the Richard Wright biography "Black Boy." While Reading this book many years ago I can relate to some of the trials and tribulations he overcame, such as leaving the South and moving to Chicago for a better opportunity to become a successful writer. Along the same lines, I once moved to Chicago to finish college to become a successful artist. Also, when Wright was younger, his house burned down.

As I went back and read the book for the second time, I became mesmerized, drawn into the story of his life thinking, does Richard Wright live in me? He may not but he really motivated me to express myself by writing, whether it was lyrics for music or dialog for a movie script. I like to write in my spare time. Creative writing relieves my stress. For the most part, it positions me in my own world. I can say that I've truly been blessed. Sometimes you may feel that it's the end of the world as you cope with certain problems or situations. All along, it is happening for a reason. At the same time, we must acknowledge the small details in our life that cause us to have problems. Sometimes we consciously or unconsciously make incorrect decisions, which lead to pain and suffering. In most cases, situations are unpredictable. Work them out, move on, and try to make some sense out of the situation if you can. Don't dwell on the problem if it can't be fixed at the moment. Let time take its course. Then go to your favorite relaxation spot like I go to my office. Sit back, reminisce, meditate and appreciate the present moment.
